A Writer is Born: What Happens After your First Book is Published?

After months, maybe even years of agonizing and anticipation, your debut literary publication is available to the public. The reviews are in – great, good, mixed, maybe even bad. After that first publication, whether successful or not, writers may struggle with what comes next. In this session, Michael Afenfia provides insights on navigating that delicate time when writers wonder whether that first book was a fluke or if they can do it again.

Michael Afenfia wears many hats. He is a storyteller and author of several critically acclaimed novels, that have been nominated for awards in his home country Nigeria. He is a lawyer with a master’s in business administration (MBA) and a public speaker and mentor to many upcoming writers. He is currently the Executive Director of the Saskatchewan Association of Immigration Settlement & Integration Agencies (SIASIA).

Please note all times listed are Saskatchewan time. This workshop will not be recorded.
