Entries are invited from all over Nigeria for the JB Afenfia Flash Fiction Contest. This competition hopes to identify, publish and reward the best flash fiction from Nigeria.

RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

Entry must be original, unpublished prose work in English.

Entry must begin with the sentence, “It happened last night”.

Entry must not exceed 400 words.

Entries should be sent to admin@michaelafenfia.com.

Entry closes by midnight December 27, 2017. 

Participants are not allowed to submit more than one entry each.

The panel of judges will assess each entry on its depth, originality and quality of writing.

The winner will be unveiled on New Year’s Day, January 1 2018.

Winner’s bank account will be credited with the sum of N25,000 on January 1, 2018.

Top 5 entries (including the winner’s) will receive an autographed copy of Don’t Die on Wednesday, a critically acclaimed work by Michael Afenfia.

Top 10 entries will be published on www.michaelafenfia.com/blog and affiliated blogs.
